For the last month or so, I have been doing workouts that I am emailed weekly from Barb Lindquist. Generally 100/200 repeat stuff. Some IM, a little bit of kicking. Most is based off a "threshold" pace which I generally use 1:40/100m.

I have thought about doing some meets, but I am a little scared. I don't know if my pride is ready to be crushed by a middle-aged woman. However, it would get me my competition fix while I am healing.

Good luck with the ankle, Chris. And thanks for reading/commenting :)

I've been getting over a terrible ankle sprain, and haven't been able to run in a month, so I can feel you there.

Great improvement on the swim, though; I swam as at a relatively high level as a junior, and have been getting back into it as of late for the same tri purposes. What kinds of sets have you been doing to improve?

You should look at trying to enter into some local masters races; there's a good chance you could find a 500 free or a 1650 (if you dare go there...), and masters meets are usually pretty cheap to enter into, and a good way to test swim fitness in a relaxed environment.
